Adisa's practice focuses on trust and estate litigation, business immigration law, and employment litigation. She has represented large international corporations, small business owners, executors, trustees, guardians and beneficiaries. Understanding the client's objectives, identifying the critical issues early on in litigation, and efficiently developing strategies to achieve the desired results are the hallmarks of Adisa's practice.

Experience

  • Obtained a preliminary injunction from the United States District Court for the District of Montana on behalf of an Illinois-based corporate client prohibiting solicitation of the client's customers by two former sales agents
  • Secured approval of various H-1B and L-1 petitions on behalf of corporate clients
  • Won a complete dismissal of former employee's retaliatory discharge lawsuit against the company and the company's President
  • Negotiated numerous non-judicial and family settlement agreements
  • Successfully represented various supervised and independent executors and administrators
  • Counseled individual and corporate trustees regarding their fiduciary responsibilities
  • Negotiated a very low, four-figure settlement for a firm client sued in a complex Fair Labor Standards Act class action lawsuit in U.S. District Court
  • Defended companies in state and federal courts in various discrimination, harassment and whistleblower lawsuits
  • Defeated a motion to void the court's grant of a guardian's fee petition
  • Successfully defended employers in front of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Illinois Department of Human Rights
  • Drafted and updated various employee handbook policies and guidelines
  • Successfully represented the interests of a large academic institution in a multi-million dollar estate litigation
  • Conducted several sensitive internal investigations regarding a wide array of discrimination and harassment complaints against co-workers and supervisors
  • Served as local counsel in a highly contentious ERISA lawsuit
  • Conducted anti-harassment training presentations for company managers and executives
  • Drafted employment and separation agreements with a multitude of different restrictive covenants for senior and mid-level managers
